1) Download the app!

Don’t sweat if you do not know anything about the app, it is a free and is available in your mobile phones and tablets. Which  can be easily downloaded from the App Store for Apple iOS devices here and for Android devices on Google Play here.

Instagram is also accessible  on the web or the desktop application but the features are limited and usually require additional plug-ins. You can get it from the Microsoft Store using this link.

Whereas, in your mobile or tablets you have multiple interactive features such as access to your direct messages and Instagram stories for more user interaction.

2) Create an account

Launch the newly downloaded app and create an account.

Instagram gives you two options to create your account with;

i) You can sign up with your email address or phone number and then enter your preferred username.

 

ii) You can link your Facebook account to your Instagram account and log in with the same username.

 

Tip: A username can be creative and catchy but it must also express your business clearly and

it is always an essential way of branding yourself.

3) Convert your account into a Business Profile

  

To convert your account into business profile, link it to your Facebook page using the Instagram Business tools available in your settings where you have the free choice of choosing the option and switching to your Business Account

Press continue where you are provided with different Business Tools by Instagram.

Next, Instagram asks you to link your Facebook page, choose your page and then make your account public. This gives you a wide brief introduction about your engagements, reach and insights.

Give Instagram the permission to access your facebook page and accept it.

Set a title for your page with the sub category options you are provided with such as;

4) Set up your profile

    

After making your profile, now it is the time to set up your business profile where you have three things to focus on; profile, bio and, website link.
